The Stupidest Hummer Concept Ever!!!

Do I really need to say anything about this monstrosity? It's so ugly that I had to make a gadget out of it...

Artist Matthew Harrison unveiled his latest project entitled 'Hummer' at the fifth Zoo Art Fair (17-20 October, 2008) - a HUMMER H3 complete with wooden wagon wheels, the iconic installation will be parked on Old Burlington Road, opposite the Royal Academy of Arts for the duration of the fair.

Harrison is exhibiting on behalf of East London gallery, Limoncello, one of 57 under six year old galleries, project spaces, artists' collectives, curatorial groups and publications showcasing works from some of the most exciting art talent in the world.

Harrison has combined the legendary off-road vehicle with 'Wild West' wooden wheels to create a sculpture that is a mixture of art, engineering and motoring. For Harrison, the crux of the 'Hummer' is formed by both its 'being' and its afterlife.

Corin Richards from HUMMER comments: "Similar to HUMMER, this sculpture really is like no other. As well as being built for action, the H3 certainly has a unique, iconic style. We were thrilled to be approached by Matthew and glad to be supporting his work at the Zoo Art Fair."

2005 Ford GT

"Unveiled at the 2002 North American International Auto Show, the Ford GT40 concept became an instant sensation. And just 45 days after the vehicle was unveiled, Ford stunned the world again, officially announcing that a production version was in the works. Ford's GT40 concept car was created to celebrate that great era in history and look forward to the great years to come.

Although the new production car and the original race car both share the mystique of the Ford GT name, they do not share a single dimension. The new car is more than 18 inches longer and stands nearly 4 inches taller. Its new lines draw upon and refine the best features of Ford GT history and express the car's identity through modern proportion and surface development."

"The all-new 2008 Jeep Liberty stands out from the competition by offering customers classic Jeep design, two four-wheel-drive systems, refined on-road ride and handling, cargo and utility, as well as features that are not typically found on vehicles in the mid-size SUV segment," said George Murphy, Senior Vice President - Global Marketing, Chrysler Group.

2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee

"Jeep Grand Cherokee's design provides a contemporary return of an athletic appearance. Up front, the signature seven-slot grille, flanked by the functional round appearance high-performance halogen headlamps, boldly dominates the design statement. These round headlamps unify the unmistakable front-end appearance of the entire Jeep line-up.

"A proportionally longer bonnet and greater distance from the centre of the front axle to the base of the windscreen visually communicate a more powerful image. Helping to achieve a more athletic appearance is a flatter windscreen and sleeker A-pillar design.

"The latest model is 145 mm longer, 12 mm wider and rides on a 90 mm longer wheelbase than the previous model. Although body width is only slightly increased, the track is up by 64 mm for a wider stance and improved handling. The overall design of the bodyshell, which is 60 per cent stiffer in torsion compared to the previous model, delivers improved vehicle aerodynamics (Cd is 0.41) and enhanced vehicle fuel economy. The body is 'shrink-wrapped' to the package, enabling designers to emphasise the powerful wheelarch flares. Larger rear lights feature red and clear lenses for an upscale appearance. Overall, the Jeep Grand Cherokee preserves the right-size package that is critical for off-road use and provides nimble on-road handling."

2006 Jeep Commander 4x4 Limited 5.7 Liter Hemi

This vehicle has become one of my favorites. If it weren't for poor gas milage, I probably would have gotten one of these instead of my Chevy Trailblazer. One of the biggest advantages that the Jeep Commander has is the third row. There are many people out there that have families and don't want to drive around a mini-van. SUVs like the Jeep Commander that have a 3rd row are a good alternative to a grocery getter, plus they're a whole lot more fun!

1997 Jeep Wrangler

Back to one of the basics, the Jeep Wrangler is a classic in it's own right. As with a lot of teenagers, my dream vehicle was a Jeep Wrangler with a nice lift and 33" tires. I ended up with a 1984 Potiac Fiero as my first car, which is at the other end of the spectrum, but was a lot of fun in it's own right.

2005 Jeep Hurricane Concept

Jeep is well known for their 4x4 off-roading vehicles, but the 2005 Jeep Hurricane 4x4 Concept is the first rock crawler that I've seen them make. Being that it only seats 2 people, it's not the most practical vehicle for your every day stuff which limits the marketability of it. Instead, they were going for the ultimate off roader. If you take a close look at how the wheels turn, you'll notice that the Jeep Hurrican can spin around in place. No more 50 point turns in those tight places! Along with not one but two 5.7-liter 8 cylinder HEMI engines and a ton of clearance, you've got yourself one heck of an A/T vehicle!

2002 Jeep Willys2 Concept

This thing looks like a mini tank! You can almost see a bit of what ended up being the Jeep Patriot in the front and some of the body. Of course, the Jeep Patriot looks pretty whimpy compared to this. I wonder if anyone out there has considered converting a Jeep Patriot to look more like this?

The New Hummer HX Concept (2008)

Check out the new Hummer HX Concept (2008:

Some info about the Hummer HX Concept:
(Info provided by www.netcarshow.com)

"With its unmistakable HUMMER design and a compact, go-anywhere driving ethic, the HUMMER HX concept challenges the hierarchy of the trail. HUMMER displayed the nimble, reconfigurable off-roader at the 2008 North American International Auto Show.

More compact than a HUMMER H3 - 81 inches (2,057 mm) wide, with a 103-inch wheelbase (2,616-mm) - the HX concept is an open-air, two-door off-road vehicle that packs the off-road acumen for which HUMMER has become legendary, along with an easily convertible body that acclimates to varied trail conditions, cargo needs or passenger whims. Its design is based on the ideas developed by a trio of young designers who are new to the HUMMER studio.

"The HX is HUMMER's vision of an agile, trail-ready, open-air vehicle that fits the lifestyles of everyone who needs or wants to drive off road," said Martin Walsh, HUMMER general manager. "Of course, it carries exceptional off-road capability and the distinctive styling for which all HUMMERs are known."

The HX offers an open-air driving experience via a pair of removable roof panels above the driver and front passenger, and a modular, removable rear roof assembly. With the roof panels and roof assembly removed, the HX is transformed into a true convertible.

Easy removal of the roof panels and rear-roof assembly enables quick conversion from a closed vehicle to an open one. The HX also was designed with several roof assemblies, allowing this versatile vehicle to be configured as an SUT (with the roof assembly removed), a stylish slant-back or a traditional, wagon-like design that offers a bit more cargo space.

The HX was shown with a slant-back configuration, wearing a desert-inspired matte olive paint scheme, at the North American International Auto Show. Additional convertible features include:

Removable doors - easily removable pins in the exposed hinges allow the doors to be removed quickly - an appreciated feature of many serious off-roaders
Removable fender flares - attached with quarter-turn quick-release fasteners, the composite fender flares can be quickly removed for additional trail/rock clearance, or if the flare is damaged during off-road driving

"The modular design of the roof and removable body panels mark an evolution of HUMMER's design aesthetic," said Carl Zipfel, director of design. "These features demonstrate a deeper understanding of enthusiast desires when it comes to off-road driving - and the slant-back design gives the HX a look all its own.""

2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS

"The high-performance Chevrolet Camaro SS is equipped with a powerful 6.2L V-8, with a choice of a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. Standard, manual transmission-equipped models receive the LS3 engine, estimated at 422 horsepower (315 kW) and 408 lb.-ft. of torque (553 Nm). The LS3 debuted on the 2008 Chevrolet Corvette and uses high-flow cylinder heads based on the Chevrolet Corvette Z06's LS7 engine to enable great low-end torque and high-rpm power. It is paired with a TR6060 six-speed transmission.

A new, L99 V-8 engine is used on automatic transmission-equipped Chevrolet Camaro SS models. It is based on the LS3 and carries all of its high-performance design features, but also includes GM's fuel-saving Active Fuel Management feature. It enables the engine to run on only four cylinders during light-load driving conditions, such as highway cruising, to improve fuel economy. The V-8 is estimated at 400 horsepower (299 kW) and 395 lb.-ft. of torque (535 Nm); and it is matched with a Hydra-Matic 6L80 six-speed transmission. This combination delivers an estimated 23 mpg on the highway.

The Chevrolet Camaro SS receives the FE3 (performance) suspension, including a lower ride height than the base Chevrolet Camaro models. Each is tuned to match the performance capabilities of their respective powertrains, as are their wheel-and-tire combinations.

GM's StabilTrak electronic stability control system is standard and incorporates traction control. The system on Chevrolet Camaro SS models includes Competitive/Sport mode that is adjustable for performance driving, such as on a racetrack; it also includes a Launch Control feature on Chevrolet Camaro SS models with the manual transmission. It enables quicker, more consistent takeoffs during performance driving."

If you love the upcoming 2010 Chevy Camaro SS, you'll love this gadget. It's a great way to have pictures of the new Chevy Camaro at your finger tips anytime you want.
